Rocked by the underground culture, the skateboarding, the independent movies from Larry Clark to Harmony Korine, Eugène Riconneaus has expressed through his shoes creations a duality of the traditional knowhow and the vision of eternal adolescence, transmitted by his shoe-maker mentor Raymond Massaro from Chanel. Eugène uses his know how and his own artworks as a tool to transcend this vision and art on his shoes.

Every day he chases the codes of a generation, an era in seeking for new personalities and new cults for women, his muses, for whom he creates. These codes then become evident and similar to those of the youth culture, that shapes season after season his shoes, and is staying true to his punk style and glamour-engaged graphic, leopard, and psycho prints.

He reaffirms his radical approach between cool boyfriend sneakers and ultra sexy heels. Sometimes even « aggressive » by their femininity and their powerful symbols such as the famous magic leaves’ print, the crown-jewel details on his pumps and sneakers. And last but not least, the iconic Eugene signature boots.

The young designer continues to imagine his wife as a chameleon, heroine of modern times, sophisticated and rebellious. Alternating between a smart modern style during the day and heels to go out at night.

« I consider my shoes like a reflection of my artworks where the finest materials and know-how combine themselves »

Alongside his passion in shoe design, E.R. has also been a contemporary artist since 2009. He has seen every detail in the Parisian place Palais de Tokyo and the Trocadero, and has photographed the ground riddled with traces of skate wheels—which he called the bondage of the French marble.

Over the years, his photographic work has evolved, superposing his original shots with the most diverse pictures taken of different cities and girlfriends. More recently he has started doing color painting, continuing with the same inspiration.

Most notably, the art career of Eugene has been well-recognized by some of the most prestigious art collectors around the world. Eugene’s divine shoe collection is always well-connected to his art—like the bondage tracks reflected in his latest shoe creations.

Eugene Riconneaus’ collections are created from exceptional leather goods, such as box-calfskin, plugged lamb, suede kid skin, with an art that he has inherited from French Craftsmen. Wishing to honor his origins, and to pay tribute to the boot makers whom conveyed their techniques, Eugène’s shoes are entirely handcrafted in France, Italy and Portugal. Benefiting from renowned master craftsman, Eugène continues to add to the French “savoir-faire” tradition, convinced to preserve this unique art form…
